Date:  Saturday May 12, 2012
City:  Leesburg, VA
Phone:  703-505-5152
Cost:  $25 or more is welcomed

Program:

In Burkina Faso and in many countries in Africa women & children walk for miles each day to carry water for their villages. Many of the creeks and hand-dug wells contain disease and dry out during dry season. Drought kills the crops, the animals and starvation drives many villagers to the cities threatening their ancient and natural way of life.

There's good news: Clean sustainable sources of water have been found. Walking for Water is a fundraiser created by teenagers in Leesburg, VA for the benefit of indigenous people in Africa.
Join us for a walk to HELP FIGHT DROUGHT in the countryside near Washington, DC, at the Morven Park Equestrian Center to raise money for the Dagara people to get water.

WALKING FOR WATER is devoted to giving the waters of life to the indigenous villages. It combines village wisdom with Western drilling technology and funds for education. The goal: to reclaim the land and the rich culture it sustains.
