ABOUT OUR ‘SOUP FOR THE SOUL’ BENEFIT

We want to acknowledge and thank all who participated in the first and second annual ‘Soup for the Sou! Fundraiser sponsored by The Village in November 2006. We raised over $2,000. This year our goal is to raise $10,000 to support more village children to get an education. It is a wonderful way for our Village and extended community to give back and help transform the lives of children of Burkina Faso. Please join us!
On Sunday Afternoon, October 19,2:30-5:30PM we will be gathering once more to create the village experience through ritual, song and stories as well as enjoying a wonderful bowl of hearty soup together.
We invite you to participate! Come home again to experience the richness and beauty of the Dagara traditions we have been so greatly blessed by.

ABOUT ‘THE VILLAGE ’
In 1995 a group of people in California came together to learn about the Dagara healing traditions of Burkina Faso from Malidoma and Sobonfu Somé. We still gather monthly, calling ourselves ‘The Village’. For the past 10 plus years we have shared our time, talent and resources to give back to the Dagara people. The first step was to raise funds to dig wells to provide clean water to villagers. And now we are committed to providing education to children of villages in Burkina Faso.
